# Webhook.site > Webhook.site instantly gives you a free, unique URL, email address and DNS name that capture every HTTP request, email and DNS lookup sent to them, and shows them in real time. Developers use it to test, debug and inspect webhooks and API callbacks, and to automate them with Custom Actions (a visual workflow editor), WebhookScript and JavaScript. - Opening https://webhook.site in a browser creates a unique URL and email address instantly. No signup is required. - Free URLs expire after 1 week and keep up to 50 requests. Paid plans (Basic $9/month, Pro $19/month and Enterprise $69/month, or discounted yearly) remove these limits and add Custom Actions, custom domains, schedules, databases, teams and SSO. See [pricing](https://webhook.site/pricing). - Each URL ("token") is identified by a UUID and can receive data at: - `https://webhook.site/`: any HTTP method and any sub-path. Append a status code, e.g. `//404`, to control the response status. - `https://.webhook.site`: the same URL as a subdomain. - `@emailhook.site`: incoming emails, including attachments. - `*..dnshook.site`: DNS lookups (DNSHook). - The Webhook.site CLI (`whcli`) forwards captured requests to localhost or a private network. ## API quick start ```sh # Create a URL/email address; the response contains its "uuid" curl -X POST https://webhook.site/token # Send something to it curl -X POST https://webhook.site/ -H 'content-type: application/json' -d '{"hello": "world"}' # List captured requests, newest first curl 'https://webhook.site/token//requests?sorting=newest' # Get the raw body of the latest request curl https://webhook.site/token//request/latest/raw ``` URLs belonging to a Webhook.site account require an `Api-Key` header. See the API reference for all endpoints. ## Docs - [Documentation](https://docs.webhook.site/index.html): overview and FAQ - [API: about and authentication](https://docs.webhook.site/api/about.html) - [API: tokens (URLs and email addresses)](https://docs.webhook.site/api/tokens.html) - [API: requests](https://docs.webhook.site/api/requests.html) - [API: examples](https://docs.webhook.site/api/examples.html) - [API: WebSocket](https://docs.webhook.site/api/websocket.html): receive requests in real time - [Custom Actions](https://docs.webhook.site/custom-actions.html): visual workflow editor for transforming, forwarding and responding to requests - [Custom Actions examples](https://docs.webhook.site/custom-actions/examples.html) - [WebhookScript](https://docs.webhook.site/webhookscript/index.html): scripting language for Custom Actions - [CLI](https://docs.webhook.site/cli.html): forward requests to localhost - [DNSHook](https://docs.webhook.site/dnshook.html) - [Schedules](https://docs.webhook.site/schedules.html) - [Databases](https://docs.webhook.site/database.html) - [Form Builder](https://docs.webhook.site/form-builder.html) ## Product - [Features and pricing](https://webhook.site/pricing) - [Terms, privacy and security](https://webhook.site/terms) - [Support](https://support.webhook.site) ## Comparisons - [Webhook.site as an alternative to ngrok](https://docs.webhook.site/alternative-to/ngrok.html) - [Webhook.site as an alternative to localtunnel](https://docs.webhook.site/alternative-to/localtunnel.html) - [Webhook.site as an alternative to Pipedream](https://docs.webhook.site/alternative-to/pipedream.html) - [Webhook.site as an alternative to Zapier](https://docs.webhook.site/alternative-to/zapier.html) ## Blog - [Webhook.site Custom Actions vs Zapier, Make.com, and n8n](https://webhook.site/blog/2026-07-22-webhooksite-vs-zapier-for-webhook-driven-workflows) - [Build Your First Webhook.site Workflow in Under 10 Minutes (Custom Actions Beginner’s Guide)](https://webhook.site/blog/2026-07-16-getting-started-first-workflow-in-10-minutes) - [What is Webhook.site?](https://webhook.site/blog/2026-07-15-what-is-webhooksite) ## Optional - [Open source repository](https://github.com/webhooksite/webhook.site) - [What's new](https://docs.webhook.site/news.html) - [@webhooksite on X](https://x.com/webhooksite)
